FUDGE Matte Head Extra was out of stock this summer due to a tweet by lead singer of boy band One Direction.

The power of social media is well-known but not in hair products.

That is until Liam Payne of One Direction started a true Fudge Matte Head Extra revolution after announcing on Twitter that his hair had grown back.

One Direction is the latest stars to come out of the British X-factor program. Although not winning the popular television competition, Payne and his four band mates have had a string of world-wide hit singles since 2010, even performing at the Olympics last summer in London with the likes of Pet Shop Boys and George Michael.

Payne, who shaved his head for the video of One Direction’s second UK number one single “Little Things”, wrote on 27 February that his hair had grown back and that Fudge had been kind enough to ship bottles of Fudge to the band to use on their current world tour.

“Thanks fudge for all the hair products to go on tour with now I’ve finally got my hair back,” the young singer tweeted.

An hour later, the PR guys at Fudge replied to Liam Payne.

“Glad to hear @Real_Liam_Payne & @onedirection are loving their Matte Head Extra, get yours now bit.ly/V9tjQk have a good tour boys!”

But it didn’t stop with that.

Fudge Matte Head Extra sold out all over Europe and was out of stock order this summer.

Today, Liam Payne’s tweet has been re-tweeted more than 50.000 times and is a favorite of even more.
One Direction still uses Fudge and more bottles are on their way to hair salons all over the world.
